DJ Kal picked up DJ-ing at the age of 17 in 2007 when he joined an interest group in Republic Polytechnic; by accident.
Having no knowledge of the whole culture of DJing and nightlife, he went on to spend hours on end in local nightclubs; observing local DJs do their thing; week in and week out. It is through hours of observation and practice that has made him to what he is today. Accompanied by knowledge and skills of the art of Turntablism, his formula consists of tracks and tunes; carefully selected to produce a smooth and unique blend of Hip-Hop, RnB, Dance and Club Bangers that is guaranteed to move bodies and rock dance floors.
Many prestigious nightlife establishments has had a taste of this recipe, including ChinaONE, AVALON, Club Avatar, Beer Market, The Mansion, Chameleon Club Lounge, DREAM and BQ BAR. He also had the opportunity to debut in Kuala Lumpur at Sultan Lounge. His formula also won him a few awards, ultimately earning him the title of Champion at the Pioneer Digital DJ Battle 2013 (PRO Category).
The year 2013 also saw him being recruited to one of Singapore’s finest DJ Crew; $upafellaz International founded by a local legend; DJ Ollie Des. He is now also part of local DJ Collective and DJ School – MINISTRYOFDJS, acting as a DJ as well as an instructor for local school projects.
