LIKKI (Likie Low) is a Singaporean DJ, producer, composer and erhu performer whose work sits at the intersection of Asian musical traditions, electronic dance music and contemporary performance culture. In 2026, she became the first female Singaporean DJ to perform at Tomorrowland Belgium, marking a significant milestone in Singapore’s electronic music landscape and her growing presence on the international stage.
Rooted in traditional Chinese music while deeply immersed in electronic dance music, LIKKI creates a distinctive sound that brings the erhu and other Asian musical influences into contemporary club and festival environments. Her work explores how cultural heritage can be reinterpreted, transformed and celebrated through the language of modern electronic music.
Her international trajectory began to accelerate in 2025, when she was selected as the only Singaporean artist among 30 artists worldwide for the JBL and Martin Garrix Music Academy at STMPD Studios in Amsterdam. The highly competitive programme brought together emerging electronic music artists from around the world for a week of music production, mentorship and industry exchange.
As an artist, producer and creative director, LIKKI has also developed a growing body of original productions that combine music, storytelling and spectacle. Her Future Fusion House series and In the Lion City bring together DJs, live musicians, traditional instruments and immersive staging to create new forms of contemporary Asian performance. Her work is driven by a belief that traditional music does not have to remain confined to traditional settings, but can exist in clubs, festivals and new cultural spaces while retaining its identity.
LIKKI began creating her own shows at the age of 18, with productions including The Past and the Present for Cool Classics (2018), Twisted Classics at the Esplanade Huayi Festival (2019), and Let the Brass Drop for Band Weekend (2021). In 2022, she unveiled her fusion of EDM and Chinese instruments at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music’s Voyage festival, followed by a performance at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre’s RE-MIX Festival. Since then, she has performed across Singapore and internationally, including at the ASEAN Conference in Kuala Lumpur, &Friends Festival in Manila, and venues and festivals across Singapore.
Her practice extends beyond DJ performance into songwriting, composition and live production. Her songwriting and composition work has received recognition from competitions and programmes including the Hitmaker Global Academy, the International Seakeepers Society Songwriting Competition (2020), and The Dream Composition Songwriting Competition (2021).
LIKKI’s musical foundation began at the age of eight, when she started studying the erhu under Singaporean erhu master Ling Hock Siang, Assistant Principal of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra. She later developed her compositional practice under composers including Dr. Kelly Tang, Dr. Chen Zhang Yi and Prof. Peter Edwards. She graduated from the School of the Arts Singapore in 2017 and the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in 2022.
Her background as an erhu soloist has been equally formative. At 13, she became the youngest qualifying participant of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music summer camp and subsequently received recognition in competitions including the Taiwan Hsinchu International Chinese Music Competition. She has performed as a concerto soloist with ensembles including the Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra and Orchestra of the Music Makers. Highlights include the premiere of Chen Zhang Yi’s Concerto for Erhu, Ruan and Percussion at the Esplanade Concert Hall in 2019, followed by a performance tour in South Korea.
Today, LIKKI continues to push the boundaries between heritage and electronic music, building a musical identity that is distinctly Asian, unapologetically contemporary and designed for the global stage.
